It's Time to Clean up Your Youngster's Notebook

When it comes to studying, each student relies heavily on their notebook. For this reason, it’s important that what they are using is a solid resource. To help you give your student’s notebook a spring clean and give them a great learning tool, The Tutoring Center, Miramar FL has the following post to offer.

Declutter

The first thing to do is to take everything that isn’t attached, out. As you do this, be sure to use a pencil to number each of the notes to a corresponding page in the notebook, so that you both don’t forget where it all goes. Once you have everything taken out, let your youngster sort through it all and throw out anything that isn’t useful. If they find pages which only include useful information on half, remove the useful information and discard the rest.

Format

Once you are looking at the original notebook and a pile of paper with useful information, it’s time to put it all back together. However, don’t just use staples or glue. Instead, consider rewriting the notes. For example, if there is a page which includes a lot of scribbles but also information that needs an accompanying graph you have in the loose pile, use a blank sheet of paper and re-write the note with your youngster, including the graph in the appropriate areas of the text. Once you have both finished, paste this entire sheet over the original. While it may seem like a bit of work to complete, once you finish your student will have a powerful and concise learning tool from which to study.
