How to Keep Your Child's Brain and Body Warm and Active

When summer rolls around it is easy to find activities to do with your children that keep both their bodies and their brains active. When it comes to the colder weather, that’s a very different story! A story which involves children being seemingly glued to the couch! Sound familiar? This article from The Tutoring Center, Miramar FL has some great activities you can do with your children during the cold weather without getting a chill!

A Museum

If you can remember a time when you would look through your encyclopedia to complete your homework then you likely also remember museums being a relatively quiet and maybe even boring environment. If this is your memory then you are in for a surprise! Not content to let video games take over the world, museums have become very focused on enticing children to visit with many installations and exhibits targeted towards their very interests! Apart from blending fun and learning together, a museum also happens to be a nice warm space!

Paint-By-Numbers

If you knew that your youngster was interested in art at a very young age because your walls were constantly being covered in marker, then you will love this activity. Well, you will love that there isn’t a mess involved! Paint by number sets are a great idea on their own, but they also have the potential for an educational twist. For example, if your student is struggling to learn multiplication, have them start painting only the colors which fit into the multiplication sequence. You can then move on to painting all of the prime numbers, right up to quizzing them on equations they have been struggling with, with the answer being the color they paint.

Tutoring Works for Students of All Learning Levels

Just because the sun isn’t shining overhead doesn’t mean that your television is the only entertainment available! The above two ideas are not only fun but are also great ways to keep your child’s brain active. If, through these activities or games, you notice that your student struggles with a common set of problems, speak with The Tutoring Center, Miramar FL by calling (954) 951-4700 to learn about how one-to-one tutoring can provide your child with the help they need to overcome educational challenges and reach their learning potential.
